Wine Catz is all about enjoying wine. We cannot often afford expensive wine, so we look for quality, inexpensive, and easily available, wine. We think a good wine is one that tastes good to the person drinking it, regardless of price, label, or what some “wine expert” thinks of it. We are “anti” wine snob.
We think everyone that likes wine should be a Wine Cat. Contrary to recent rumors, you do NOT need to like cats to be a Wine Cat. However we do think the sunglasses are somewhat important to achieve the correct “look” when wining “al fresco”.
All seriousness aside, we take a light-hearted approach to wine, as we do to life. Nothing that serious about wine. It tastes good, it makes you feel good. It is fun, extremely interesting, even amazing. But never something to get in a twist about.
My fellow wine cat blogger (and brother) and I are California natives that grew up near the wine country (at a time when that meant Napa) in Davis (home to one of the most recognized viticulture and oenology programs in the world) and we’ve been drinking wine most of our lives. Not that any of that makes us experts of any kind. But we kind of hope some good stuff rubbed off on us somewhere along the line.
But really, this is not all about us, (though we do get to talk more than you do). Whether you are a Certified Master Sommelier, or just started enjoying wine recently, what you think and feel about wine is interesting. Join in, tell us what you know or would like to know. About your favorite wines, bargains you’ve found or other wine chat. The more the merrier.
Or just get a wine catz hat or t-shirt (we’d be ever so grateful) and sit back and enjoy that next glass. We’re with you in spirit.
Now for the serious part. This site is intended for use by persons of legal drinking age only. Please drink responsibly.
