If you like chardonnay but sometimes wish it was softer, If you like Riesling but sometimes wish it was richer. We have a treat for you.
Maryhill 2009 Viognier from the Columbia Valley
Lush tropical fruit, flowers and toasty aromas open out to generous flavors - mango, creme brûlée, peaches. Each smell and sip seems to offer a new variety of yum. Cold it felt more like a chard, as it warmed, more Riesling characteristics came forth.
Creamy mouthfeel and a long lingering finish.
As it warmed up in the glass it grew sweeter and we could have wished for a wee bit more acid for balance.
Overall, we found this to be a lovely, complex white. Delicious to sit and sip a cold glass on a warm day.
